Our staff allows students to discover their strengths, their own unique learning styles and the methods and technologies that work for them. Small class sizes and a close-knit campus allow for personal attention and help develop the leadership skills and confidence of each student.
Administration
Ilyssa Hershey, Psy.D., Director Dr. Hershey has a doctorate in clinical psychology and a master’s degree in psychology from Yeshiva University-Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Bronx, N.Y., and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y. She began her career working as a school psychologist, then became director of mental health for Westchester County Jail in Valhalla, N.Y., followed by a position as director of behavioral health for Broward County Jails in Fort Lauderdale. Before joining Atlantis in 2005, she worked as a manager of early intervention clinical services at North Broward Hospital District-Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center in Fort Lauderdale.
Donna Bussiere, Assistant Director Since 2003, Ms. Bussiere has been an indispensable member of the Atlantis family. Primarily in charge of curriculum and student discipline, Ms. Bussiere holds a Florida Teachers Certification and has a wealth of classroom teaching experience. A native New Englander, Ms. Bussiere earned a bachelor of science in education from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts with concentrations in physical education, history, reading and psychology.
