My Day at Atlantis Academy

Hi my name is Valerie Perez and I go to Atlantis Academy in Coral Springs. I am in 7th grade and I have been here for 4 years. I love it here! I have a lot of friends and the teachers help me if I need it.
When I get to school in the morning, I usually go outside for a little while. If it is cold or raining we just stay in until 8:10. Then we go to1st period. It depends on the day of what class I go to. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I have Reading and Writing Essentials with Ms. Kashan. Ms. Kashan makes reading fun. On Monday we read for the period. On Wednesdays, well sometimes we read or she gives us some worksheets. On Fridays we have Creative Writing. That is when Ms. Kashan gives us a topic on the board and we have to write about it. On Tuesday and Thursday I have music appreciation with Coach Stuller. I love music appreciation because we get to bring in our cd’s or mp3 players. The reason I like this class so much is because I can listen to other kid’s music. After music appreciation, I go to multimedia with Mr. Bussiere that is also one of my favorite classes. We have a news show that is called WAACS news. I am an anchor along with my best friend Victoria. I love being an anchor with her. We take turns during the week. On Fridays we do show-n-tell with the 1st and 2nd graders. After that I go to Social Studies with Ms. Serra. Ms. Serra makes Social Studies fun and interesting. If I do not understand something she helps me out. Science is my next class with Mr. Bussiere Mr. Bussiere is a really good teacher and he assigns lots of projects that help us remember the material. He teaches you a lot of science and makes it fun to learn. Next is lunch on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays we have Subway. On Tuesday’s we have pizza and on Thursday’s we have hot dogs for a $1.00. You can also bring in your own lunch if you do not like what is served for lunch.
After that I have either Spanish or P.E, again it depends on the day of the week it is. When I finish Spanish or P.E I go to Language arts with Ms. Kashan. Ms. Kashan will teach you a lot before the year is over! My last class is Math with Mrs. Wartenberg. Mrs. Wartenberg will also teach you a lot before the year is over too! If I do not understand something she will help me. I am also on Student Council and it is a lot of fun. I get to help plan a lot of events that go on throughout the year. I also stay after school two days a week for the Multimedia Club and again Mr. Bussiere teaches us how to use the cameras and how to design a game show along with all other aspects of TV production.
Well, at 3:00pm I go home and that is how I spend my day at Atlantis Academy.
