How long is the school day?Students in grades K-4 begin at 8:30 a.m. and are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. Students in grades 5-12 begin at 8:15 a.m. and are dismissed at 3:00 p.m.
Can my child earn an accredited high school diploma Atlantis Academy?
Yes. Students at Atlantis Academy earn an accredited high school diploma. Each year, our graduates enroll in courses at community colleges, universities and vocational schools.
Are any scholarships available to offset the cost of tuition?
Yes. Tuition scholarships are available via the State of Florida’s McKay Scholarship Program for Students with Disabilities. The McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities Program provided more than 20,500 Florida students with special needs the opportunity to attend a participating private school during the 2008-09 school – year.
Do you accept transfers in the middle of the school year?
Yes. We have open enrollment and accept students at any point during the year. Many of our students come to us during the school year from learning environments that didn’t allow them to reach their maximum potential. We have a history of helping these students turn their lives around and reach their maximum intellectual potential.
Is Atlantis Academy an appropriate school for students with behavioral difficulties?
At Atlantis Academy our primary focus is helping students with a history of academic deficiencies caused by learning disabilities such as asperger’s syndrome, dyslexia, autism, processing delays, speech impediments, social disorders, depression, hearing impairments and ADD/ADHD.
Does Atlantis have any extracurricular activities?
Yes. Atlantis offers a full range of after school activities such as social skills group, multimedia club, swim club, photography club, cooking club, music and arts & crafts.
